About

Hello. I’m Rebecca Resinski. I received my PhD in Classics from UCLA in 1998 and have been teaching in the Classics program at Hendrix College since 2000. I have a long-standing interest in the reception of Classics in post-antique literature, and I’ve been increasingly focusing on the intersection of Classics and children’s literature. I’ve taught various courses at Hendrix dedicated to Classical myth in children’s literature, and I’ve given a number of conference papers on the reception of Classics in children’s and young adult literature. In 2013-2014 I earned a graduate certificate in children’s literature from the Pennsylvania State University World Campus.

This site is a place for me to collect and make available some of the teaching, research, and thinking I do on the uses and presentation of Classics in children’s literature. I would also be open to guest posts from other people working in this field. If you have a conference paper or essay that you’d like to post here, please feel free to drop me a note at resinski [at] hendrix [dot] edu.
